Scarlet Mambo has made a big push to become an elite disc jockey service in the New York and New Jersey Salsa scenes. Having a dancer’s perspective, the Scarlet Mambo DJ’s strive to play the best music for Salsa dancers. In fact, in a perfect world, DJ Dany J and DJ Leonard would exclusively play Salsa exclusively for dancers only, 100% of the time! (redundancy intended)

With this in mind, Scarlet Mambo is “on tour” in New York and New Jersey, making appearances at Salsa socials of some of the most prestigious Salsa personalities. Last week, on January 3rd, 2009, the Scarlet Mambo DJ’s made an appearance at Yesenia’s Dance Factory Salsa Social.

On Saturday, January 17th, 2009, Scarlet Mambo is scheduled to spin music at “The House of Dance Salsa Social”, hosted by Griselle Ponce.

In New York, DJ Dany J will be playing at Sabor Tuesdays at Iguana every Tuesday for the the month January (2009). DJ Dany J plays a long set that is followed by DJ Antonio La Conga.

During the last decade, the internet has been a crucial tool in the movement of Salsa dancing. Social networking and video sharing websites have given dancers the ability to make artistic connections and share their footage of Salsa dancing. Mainly, sites like Myspace, Facebook and Youtube make communication very easy at the user level. However, at the professional level there are a few companies that feature our Salsa passion as a legitimate artistic endeavor.

Nuevotec Productions, a “videography” company based in southern New Jersey and Philadelphia, has made an outstanding contribution to promote Salsa dancing and help inspire enthusiasts around the world. Simply, the Nuevotec team – Allan, Harry and Dimas – cover Salsa events, socials and congresses. Their footage of performances, social dancing and interviews is featured in Nuevotec.com. The following are some of my favorite videos.

This Wednesday (before Thanksgiving Thursday) is probably the baddest night to go out! (Baddest as in best). Scarlet Mambo is hosting a Pre-Thanksgiving Salsa Bash at 360 Lounge on Wednesday, November 26th 2008.

Scarlet Salsa Thursdays have quickly become the best weekly Salsa party in Central Jersey! The music is great, the place is super cool, the hardwood floor is excellent, and the people are awesome! Enough said.

Before there was a New York Salsa Congress, there was Club Paradise. After nearly a decade, the Salsa dancers of Club Paradise reunited at 360 Lounge on November 13th, 2008. Older, wiser and with fancier moves, veteran dancers met younger dancers at 360 Lounge. The guestlist that Lenny put together was top-notch as promised.
